Paul Vanstone is exhibiting alongside British sculptors Jason Mulligan and Guy Stevens in MATTER, a group exhibition celebrating the enduring possibilities of stone sculpture.

Set within the atmospheric vaulted spaces of The Crypt Gallery beneath St Pancras New Church, MATTER brings together three distinct approaches to carving, exploring the relationship between material, form and time.

For Paul, stone is both a material and a source of inspiration. Working primarily in marble and onyx, he allows the natural qualities of each block, its colour, translucency, veining and structure, to inform the finished work. His sculptures combine precise hand-carving with fluid, lyrical forms, revealing the inherent beauty and character of the stone.

The exhibition offers an opportunity to see a selection of Paul’s recent sculptures alongside the work of Mulligan and Stevens, whose practices approach stone through archaeology, landscape, symbolism and imagined forms.

MATTER runs from 19–28 September 2026 at The Crypt Gallery, London.
