MATTER | 19–28 September 2026 | The Crypt Gallery, London
Paul Vanstone recently exhibited alongside British sculptors Jason Mulligan and Guy Stevens in MATTER, a group exhibition celebrating the enduring possibilities of stone sculpture.
Set within the atmospheric vaulted spaces of The Crypt Gallery beneath St Pancras New Church, MATTER brought together three distinct approaches to carving, exploring the relationship between material, form and time.

The exhibition presented a selection of Paul’s recent sculptures alongside work by Mulligan and Stevens, whose practices approach stone through archaeology, landscape, symbolism and imagined forms.
The opening preview was a particularly enjoyable evening, with guests wandering through the atmospheric crypt by candlelight, enjoying Aperol Spritzes and port served from Guy Stevens’ handmade ceramic vessels. It was a lovely way to bring the exhibition, and the three artists, together in such a unique setting.
